(I’ll put up a better pic when I take one with my good camera. And why does my arm look like a ham hock?) Yes, I’ve named my new tattoo. Its name is Baby Blue, what’s it to you? I’m definitely in love with it. It was done last week by Megan Wilson over at Picture Machine on Geary. I love her too. She is way too adorable–and she gives great tattoos to boot! She’s also got this tattoo on her hand of the state of California with a heart where the Bay Area is–sounds fuckin cute and kick-ass or what?
I still have my November appointment with Jesse Tuesday. I’ll wait patiently I suppose. But in the meantime I had to get my tattoo fix somehow. The tattoo is on my forearm, totally center stage, so I had to think of something good to get. I had all these ideas floating around my head. Like, a Maneki Neko, a burning candle with wings, a pocket watch with butterflies, or whatever the fuck else. Then the idea of a blue acoustic cutaway guitar surrounded by roses popped into my head and I Myspace-messaged Megan the same day. Hey, when you’ve got a good idea you just know it. The tattoo is all about the guitar but, honestly, I love the roses and leaves the best–she did an awesome job with those. And thank god she steered me away from the black roses like I wanted.
I wanted Megan because I totally fell in love with her portfolio. Her tattoos were a) Traditional, b) Cute, and c) Fun. It was totally what I was looking for–something to put a smile on my face and make me happy. These were the tattoos from her portfolio that I <3 big time:
The fuckin kick-ass Russian Doll.
The Sexy Doe (not Bambi apparently)
. . . And the Gnarly Narwhal. Just try and tell me you don’t love it.
